Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Knowledge

At the time of enrolment, you may apply to have your skills and knowledge assessed for RPL. We can discuss this with you at your ATA Training Study and Career Consultation as part of the enrolment process or please contact us for more information.

The advantages of RPL are (but not limited to):

  • preventing the duplication of training
  • completing training in a shorter time
  • increasing education and employment options, and
  • reducing the costs of further education or training.

An ATA Trainer can assist you with identifying the units for which you may be eligible for recognition and advise how to gather the necessary evidence to support your application. Please contact us or call 1300 70 70 01 (during business hours) for more information or a copy of the RPL Application form. You can also download the ATA Training RPL Checklist and Application form

All equipment is maintained regularly to ensure effective and efficient operation during training delivery sessions. As a student you will be given access to all necessary instructional and assessment facilities, materials and equipment for your chosen course of study.

We can also come to your organisation. Please ask us about customised group training for your organisation.

Training Delivery, Course Materials and Assessments

ATA Training will provide learning materials and workbooks to students when the course starts. Training delivery and assessment consists of:

  • face to face to clustered workshops
  • in-class assessments/practicals
  • post-course assignments, and
  • on the job training and workplace assessments.

All our trainers are fully qualified and experienced industry professionals and deliver engaging and highly job-specific training content.

All assessments are conducted in accordance with the “New Standards 2015” for RTOs against the standards outlined in the units of competency in the relevant qualification. You will be advised of the assessment methods used for the qualification you are enrolled into and the process and timing of the submission of assessments.

Your Unique Student Identifier (USI)

The USI is a reference number made up of numbers and letters that will give you access to your USI student account. This account will allow you to login and track your study and training results from different training providers.

As part of Government regulation, all students must obtain a USI. Registered Training Organisations will not be able to issue a qualification or statement of attainment achieved after 1 January 2015, without a USI.

If you don’t have your USI, please contact us and we can help you apply or apply on your behalf.

Our courses are Nationally Recognised Training programs which meet industry and vocational training competency standards, and will prepare students for work or further study.
